1889 Sports and Social Club

The 1889 will be open from 5pm for those travelling to the big game. It will also be open for those returning to Larne afterwards.

Ballymena United

It has been a mixed bag in terms of results for the Braidmen over the last couple of months. Since the start of November, David Jeffrey’s men have won four and lost three of their last seven outings. They were outstanding in their last game at the Showgrounds, winning 4-1 against title-chasing Cliftonville while last week brought a 1-0 defeat away to Portadown.

United currently occupy seventh place in the table, having taken 23 points from their opening 18 outings.

The Inver Reds

Last week’s 2-0 win at home to Newry consolidated Larne’s place at the summit and ensured the Invermen would be top of the table for Christmas. Many of the chasing pack have games in hand over Tiernan Lynch’s men, however, an exciting Christmas and New Year period will also see many of the top six coming face-to-face over the next few weeks.

Aaron Donnelly has served his one-match suspension and is available for selection once more.
