Woodside Logistics Group provide Brighter Futures support

Mar 7, 2025 | Charity, All News

We are delighted to announce that Woodside Logistics Group have partnered with Brighter Futures in providing financial support towards the charity’s ongoing community fund programme.

The new partnership will see Woodsides, one of the UK and Ireland’s leading logistics companies, provide funding which will be used by Brighter Futures to support grants for successful applicants who fall within the programme’s four key pillars: Community Needs, Sport & Recreation, Business Enterprise and Education & Training.

Whilst operating throughout the UK and Ireland, the Group’s roots remain firmly on the home turf of the Woodside family in Ballynure where the company’s operational headquarters has been based since the 1960s.

Specialising in full load transport, groupage, vehicle transport, bulk logistics and warehousing, the Group is proud to employ 700 members of staff, many of whom come from surrounding parts of the Mid & East Antrim Borough, including Larne.

For this reason, Woodside Logistics Group place great importance in giving back to local communities within the Borough and Simon Woodside, Managing Director of Woodside Distribution, said:

“Brighter Futures do a lot of great work in the local community, funding a wide range of projects within not only sport and recreation but education, business and community needs.

“We know that this funding will have a direct, positive impact on local people and for that reason Woodsides are proud to support the work Brighter Futures do.”

Brian McRandal, Trustee of the Brighter Futures Community Fund Programme also expressed his delight at the support received from Woodside Logistics Group, commenting:

“I am really pleased to welcome Woodside Logistics Group on board on behalf of the Trustees involved with Brighter Futures and once again express our immense gratitude for the support provided in enabling us to provide the grants programme for people within the broader Larne area.

“The Brighter Futures programme continues to go from strength to strength every year thanks to all of the organisations who continue to support our efforts and adding Woodsides to that group will allow 2025 to become our biggest year yet in terms of supporting as many applicants as possible throughout the year. We will continue to track and record our Social Impact through our Community Impact Report which will be available soon online.

“I would encourage anyone within the BT40 area who requires support in community needs, sport and recreation, business enterprise or education and training to come forward and apply within our programme, as we are eager to help as many successful applicants as we can as part of the rolling process.”
