We are delighted to announce the signing of Kevin O’Hara, subject to International Clearance, after the Scottish frontman put pen to paper at Inver Park.
The 27-year-old attacker left Hamilton Accies at the expiry of his contract last month and arrives on the eve of the club’s UEFA Champions League qualifying campaign.
Kevin, who has been capped at under-16 and under-19 level for his country, began his career at Falkirk, which included loan spells at East Fife and Stenhousemuir.
From here he enjoyed a fruitful season in front of goal for Alloa Athletic in the 2019/20 campaign, which caught the eye of Dunfermline Athletic, where he would go on to spend the next three seasons.
Following his stint at East End Park, Kevin joined Hamilton where he would firmly establish himself as a fans’ favourite, including helping the Accies to win promotion to the Championship.
He now crosses the Irish Sea, with boss Gary Haveron revealing how he snapped up the opportunity to bring the striker to the club.
“When the opportunity came up we did our due diligence as you do, which involved watching some footage and it became clear that he is an exciting player.
“He has really high energy, he presses aggressively from the front end of the park and leads the line excellently.
“It was also about tapping into people that we know. I spoke to Andy Ryan about him and I spoke to Jon Rankin, who managed him at Hamilton and he spoke very highly about him.
“I hope he can come and make anywhere near the impact that the last player we brought in from Hamilton did.
“What Andy Ryan did for us was nothing short of exceptional, and I hope Kevin will come in and do exactly the same.
“He’s big shoes to fill, but he’s a big personality and he’s a lovely lad. We’re excited about him, as we are with all our summer signings.”
Subject to International Clearance before the relevant deadline, Kevin will be added to our panel eligible to face Tre Fiori in the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round tie.
He will wear the number 19 shirt, with his first interview as an Inver Red to follow across our social media channels in the coming days.
