UEFA confirm away fans not permitted at European ties

UEFA have confirmed with all clubs participating in the qualifying rounds of European club competitions there can be no away fans in attendance.

This, unfortunately, means that away fans will not be permitted at our Europa Conference League ties against Bala Town next month.

Larne travel to take on Bala at the TNS at Park Hall, Oswestry on Thursday 8th July, with the return leg at Inver Park on Thursday 15th July.

We understand this will come as a disappointment to many fans who had hoped to travel, especially with the game taking place in the UK. However, all clubs were informed of UEFA’s directive after the draw was made earlier today.

It reads: “We remind you that in case UEFA matches are staged with spectators all clubs must respect the UEFA Minimum Health & Hygiene Requirements for the Return of Spectators v2.

“The decision on the number of permitted spectators falls under the responsibility of the relevant competent local/national authorities. Please note that in view of the ongoing travel restrictions and in order to minimise COVID-19 related risks, the UEFA Executive Committee decided as well to not allow visiting fans to attend UEFA club competition matches and not to apply the 5% rule for visiting supporters for all 2021/22 qualifying phase and play-offs matches.

No spectators are allowed for matches played in neutral venues.”

We will confirm ticketing arrangements for the second leg at Inver Park, in due course.
