Stream available to purchase ahead of Shield Final

We are delighted to announce that a live stream of next week’s County Antrim Shield final will be facilitated as a joint venture between Glentoran and Larne.

The Shield decider at Seaview on Wednesday 2nd December is the first final of the 2020/21 season, and will be played behind closed doors, as per the latest Covid-19 restrictions.

However, fans of both clubs will now have an opportunity to purchase the stream for just £7.50, with all revenue to be split between the two clubs.

The commentary team on the night will be led by BBC Sport NI’s Michael Clarke, with two former players who will need little introduction to fans of either club.

On co-commentary duties will be Glens legend Paul Leeman, who made almost 600 appearances at the club during his 15-year glittering career at the Oval.

Joining him on the mic will be former Larne stalwart John McKinstry – a man who racked up more than 800 appearances across three different decades at Inver Park.

Looking ahead to the final, Michael Clarke said: “It is always an honour to have the opportunity to cover a final and I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing what Larne and Glentoran can produce on the night.

“I was lucky enough to be on commentary duty for the 4-3 thriller between Crusaders and Linfield in the 2018-19 showpiece and can only hope we are spoiled again at Seaview this year.

“With an increasingly competitive league, domestic cup competitions such as the Co. Antrim Shield have gained a new lease of life and both finalists will be keen to pick up some silverware and lay down an early marker in this campaign.

“Will it be 26-time winners Glentoran who claims this historic prize, or can Larne scoop their first senior honour since 1987? I for one cannot wait to find out!
