We are pleased to announce plans for an enhanced matchday experience for our game against Ballymena United at Inver Park on Friday 17th March, which coincides as our final pre-split home game.
The season’s final Shanes Hill derby, which will be played on the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, will see a festival of activity at Inver Park and is being supported by Club Partner BetMcLean.
To kick the day off, 1889 Sports & Social Club will open early from 12.30pm for those wishing to enjoy the annual Cheltenham Festival Gold Cup race day. Hot food and refreshments (alcoholic and soft drinks) will be available all afternoon, with each race shown live alongside our surround sound system to enhance the atmosphere.
Following the afternoon’s racing, popular local artist Bobbie Garrett will be performing live from 5.30-7.30pm. At 6pm, Antrim Coast Dance Academy will be on hand to get you in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day with some traditional Irish Dancing in the main car park.
At 7.45pm, attention will turn to the pitch as the Inver Reds take on David Jeffrey’s side in the fourth and final Shanes Hill derby of the season. After the games conclusion, further entertainment will be on offer inside 1889 Sports & Social Club.
General Manager Niall Curneen commented, “By the time our game against Ballymena United comes around, we will have just three league games left at Inver Park before the end of the season.
“Our supporters have been fantastic throughout the season and have supported us in great numbers, especially at Inver Park so we are keen to make sure we used the St. Patrick’s Day holiday to put on an enhanced matchday experience for supporters to enjoy before the season ends.
“With so much going on around the match itself, this is another chance for supporters to bring one more person with them to enjoy what promises to be a great night of entertainment at Inver. I would like to thank our Club Partner BetMcLean, who will be helping us to deliver this event for our fanbase and the wider community overall.”
