NEXT up to feature on the Supporters Clubs spotlight is Richard Girvin. Richard is a member of the Bodega Reds and has provided us with some extra information on his club and his views on the upcoming season.
Richard Girvin – Bodega Reds
When and how was your club founded?
Bodega Reds was formed in the 2019 season. The club was formed because we could see that the Football Club were making massive strides forward and we thought there was space for another Supporters Club. This has become a major success as the Bodega Reds Supporters Club have received massive support, which we in-turn can use to support our club!
What is your favourite away trip?
For me, it has to be the away trip to Portadown which turned out to be a brilliant trip down with a really good atmosphere throughout the whole day. Our away support is always in good voice!
What are your thoughts on the upcoming season?
In my opinion we need to strengthen, I think we need at least four solid players who are looking to challenge and compete for first team football. If David McDaid or Johnny McMurray were to get injured, then we could be left short upfront. Our midfield area is quite strong, but I would like to have two more direct wingers in and another centre half. At the minute we have a small squad so if we could get some more players in and compete for places to challenge further, I think that would be great!
