We are delighted to announce club captain Tomas Cosgrove has signed a new contract at Inver Park, keeping at the club until the summer of 2025.
The right-side played arrived at the club in 2018, instantly becoming an integral part of the side which won promotion from the Championship.
As the team continued to evolve in top flight football the Premiership-title winner continued to be an ever-present in the side which would end its 33-year wait for a senior trophy, winning the County Antrim Shield in December 2020.
It is a trophy Cosgrove would go on to win three times in a row with the club, as well as helping to secure European football for the first time in the summer of 2021.
A year ago, Cosgrove was named as the new captain of the side and he would make history by lifting the Gibson Cup in April of this year, after an unforgettable campaign.
The 30-year-old is delighted to be extending his stay at the club which is now into its sixth season.
He said: “I’m really pleased sign be signing a new contract at the club.
“We have been on an amazing journey since I came here five years ago. Everything Tiernan and Kenny laid out and promised has come true in that time and it’s been brilliant to be part of it.
“I’ve made no secret of the fact that I wanted to make history at the club when I was given the captain’s armband and I’m really hungry to make even more in the years ahead.
“Since I came here, the fans and everyone around the club have made me feel so welcome. Larne is now a place I call home and that gives me even more motivation to make the people here proud of the club.”
Tomas has made 211 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals and providing 37 assists so far. Boss Tiernan Lynch is equally as pleased to see his captain sign a new deal.
“Tomas has been and continues to be an integral part of the journey we’re on at the club,” he added.
“He was given the captain’s armband last season and has led by example. Not just on the pitch or matchdays but how we conducts himself, how he trains, how he treats others and the things he is willing to take on.
“You can tell that he cares about the club and even more that than, he is hungry to help us achieve more in the future. We’re delighted to see him sign this new contract.”
