We are delighted to announce the signing of Shannon Dunne, who joins the club from Derry City Women, where she captained the side in the Women’s Premiership.
Dunne arrives at Inver Park as one of the most respected leaders in the league, having spent most of her career with Derry City after joining the club at an early age. Beginning her football journey at just 12 years old, she progressed through the ranks to become a central figure within the team, eventually taking on the captain’s armband and leading the side both on and off the pitch.
Alongside her success in the 11-a-side game, Dunne has also been recognised at international level in futsal, earning selection for Northern Ireland squads, highlighting her technical ability.
She took her talents to East Belfast with Glentoran, where she established herself as a key part of a successful squad after joining ahead of the 2020 season. During her time with the Glens, she helped the club to back-to-back Women’s Premiership titles and added further top-level experience before returning to Derry City in 2023
Manager Matthew Crawford welcomed the addition:
“We are pleased to welcome Shannon to the club, Shannon has good experience playing at this level and we believe will be a good addition to the squad.
“Shannon is keen be a part of how we look to develop the team going forward and we feel will help us make positive steps going forward this season.”
Speaking after signing, Dunne said:
“I am really looking forward to getting started, I already feel valued and appreciated.
“I know the work that lays ahead, but Larne are an ambitious club and are looking to take it up levels, so I am privileged to be apart of it and help where I can.”
Shannon’s arrival is another significant addition to the squad, bringing proven leadership and top-flight experience as the club continues to build towards the new campaign.
Everyone at the club welcomes Shannon Dunne to Inver Park.
