We are delighted to announce that Sean Brown has signed a one year contract extension at the club, taking him until the end of the 2024/25 season.

The 18-year-old right-back has spent the first half of the season on loan at NIFL Championship outfit Bangor FC and has now returned to the club.

The young defender, who is a graduate of the club’s scholarship programme, has impressed during his first half of the season stint with the Seasiders in which he made 21 appearances, helping to propel the side to 3rd in the NIFL Championship standings.

Sean made his debut for Tiernan Lynch’s side in last season’s Co. Antrim Shield victory against Knockbreda, making an instant impression with a man of the match performance. The young defender went on to make further senior appearances during the 2022/23 season in the Sports Direct Premiership and BetMcLean Cup, scoring his first senior goal against Lisburn Distillery in the process.

Speaking on the contract extension and his recent loan spell, Manager Tiernan Lynch said:

“Sean has enjoyed a strong first half of the season with Bangor in the Championship and has got his just rewards with the contract extension.

“We see Sean as a young player with great potential having come through our Scholarship Programme and we want to give him the best possible chance to continue his growth and development.

“Sean has shown a great attitude to go alongside his great ability and we look forward to continuing to work with him and helping to do what is best for his development going forward.”

Ali Omar, who along with Sean was on loan at Bangor this season, has also returned to the club after suffering an ACL injury last month. Ali will continue his rehabilitation at the club following successful surgery.
