We are delighted to announce the loan signing of Sam Todd from Derry City.
The 26-year-old central defender’s loan runs until New Year’s Day and joins the Invermen having come through the Academy at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
This was followed by spells at Finn Harps and UCD, before returning to City last year, with one of his final acts in a Derry shirt this season coming as he scored the only goal of the game away to Cork City as they booked their place in the FAI Cup quarter-finals.
Boss Tiernan Lynch was please to make the signing ahead of a new domestic campaign, which kicks off this weekend, away to Coleraine.
“If there’s an opportunity to strengthen the group then we make no secret about our desire to do that.
“Having seen Sam up close we feel he very much falls into that category.
“Sam comes to us having got into double figures for appearances at Derry City this season and we hope that will help him to hit the ground running with us.”
