Rangers XI: A closer look at today’s visitors

Jul 27, 2024 | All News, First Team

Ahead of today’s friendly against Rangers XI at Inver Park, our Scottish visitors have confirmed their travelling squad to face Tiernan Lynch’s side. Let’s take a closer look at some of the key players who are part of the Glasgow side’s squad.

Adam Devine

The 21 year old right-back is an academy graduate at Rangers who made his first-team debut back in May 2022 against Dundee United.

Since then, Devine has gone on to make 11 senior appearances for the Glasgow giants, playing 5 SPFL Premiership games in the 2022/23 season alongside being included in the UEFA Champions League squad for the group stage where the Ibrox side faced SSC Napoli, Liverpool and Ajax.

The young defender has also been capped at U16, U17, U19 and U21 level for Scotland and spent the second-half of last season on loan at SPFL Premiership side Motherwell where he made eleven appearances.

Robbie Fraser

Having been part of the academy setup at Ibrox for over 14 years, the 21 year old defender made his first-team debut under Philippe Clement back in May, getting 30 minutes in a 5-2 victory over Dundee at Ibrox.

After impressing, Fraser was handed his first start in the final game of the SPFL Premiership season at Tynecastle against Hearts and will be keen to push himself into Philippe Clement’s plans ahead of the new season.

The young defender has also been capped at both U16 and U21 level for Scotland.

Bailey Rice

The 17 year old midfielder already has his name etched into the history books at Ibrox after becoming the club’s youngest ever player to make a league appearance when he came off the bench to replace Ryan Kent against Livingston in the SPFL Premiership back in February 2023 as a 16 year old.

Rice has gone on to make two more SPFL Premiership appearances which both came at the start of last season as he featured in victories over Motherwell and St Mirren.

Highly-rated by both club and country, the young midfielder has been capped at U16, U17 and U19 level for Scotland. When coming through the academy at Motherwell, Rice was wanted by Premier League giants Manchester City and fellow Scottish Premiership Celtic but ultimately saw Rangers as the best option for his development.

Mason Munn

A name that may be more familiar for supporters, Mason Munn is a Northern Irish goalkeeper who joined the Ibrox club after coming through the ranks at fellow Sports Direct Premiership side, Glentoran.

Rangers won the race for the young goalkeeper back in 2022 after attracting a lot of interest from English Premier League sides and has recently signed a new four-year deal to stay at Ibrox until 2028.

Munn has been capped at U17, U18 and U19 level for Northern Ireland.
