We are delighted to announce that Stacey Qosja and Maddie Brant have joined the Inver Women on transfer deadline day, subject to international clearance.
The pair become the latest players to swap the United States for Inver Park and the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership, following on from Kate Nicolson and Melissa Storey who have signed up for the 2024 season during their summer break from university soccer.
First to sign is international forward Stacey Qosja, who is capped three times for Albania at under-19 level. Originally from London, Qosja came through the ranks at AFC Wimbledon and Reading before moving stateside to play for Creighton Women’s Soccer.
Following Qosja to Inver Park is fellow Englishwomen Maddie Brant. Naturally a left sided player, the Kent-native came through the development ranks at Chelsea, playing for the U17-U21 squads and representing England Schoolgirls on seven occasions.
After completing her time at Chelsea, Brant made the move to Rutgers University, where she spent three seasons and won the Big Ten Conference. Prior to signing for the Inver Reds, Brant captained the Iowa State University team and played in all 20 games during the 2023 season.
Reflecting on the signings, William Noble said:
“Our two latest signings round off our international recruitment for this transfer window and we are really excited to welcome the five players to Larne this summer.
“The coaching staff felt that it was important to think outside the box during the off-season and to look further afield in order to strengthen the squad ahead of what will be an ever-competitive Premiership season, and we believe we have done that with our business overall.
“All of the players coming in will add to the talented group we already have at our disposal and we are now going full steam ahead towards the league season which begins this Sunday against Lisburn Ladies.”
Stacey Qosja will wear the number nine shirt for the club this season, while Maddie Brant and has been given the number six shirt.
