P&O Ferries Launch ‘Matchday, It’s On Us’ Campaign

We are excited to announce the ‘Matchday, It’s On Us’ campaign in partnership with P&O Ferries, which will see our club partners commit a fantastic gesture in purchasing 500 match tickets for this month’s game against Ballymena United with all tickets then made available for the Larne community to pick up for free ahead of the fixture.

The Shanes Hill derby clash is set to take place on Saturday 26th January at Inver Park, nearing the end of what is always a difficult financial month for families following a busy Christmas period.

For this reason, P&O Ferries have committed to paying for Larne fans to attend the game, paying for 500 tickets which will now become available to claim for free on a first come, first serve basis at 1pm on Thursday 16th January.

These match tickets will be available to claim on the Larne vs Ballymena United fixture on the Fanbase app or on web browser at larnefc.com/tickets from the date mentioned above. The tickets will appear on the drop-down menu titled ‘Matchday On Us P&O Ticket’ at zero cost until all tickets have been claimed ahead of the game.

Seeking to also accommodate Season Ticket holders on the night, P&O Ferries have paid for 100 hot drinks which can be claimed, once again on a first come, first serve basis, from 1889 Sports & Social Club on the night by showing your membership card to the relevant member of staff.

The club’s Commercial Director Ross Strathearn commented:

“Our club staff have been working hard to increase activation with our title partners throughout this season, and I believe this initiative with P&O will be one of the best to date.

“We are blown away by their offer to purchase 500 tickets to give back to the local community, in a gesture which outlines their commitment to continue engaging with our fanbase following the highly successful ‘Cruise with the Champions’ initiative and their Boxing Day matchday experience sponsorship which have both been well received by supporters.

“This activation comes off the back of research into a similar campaign run by other European football clubs in recent seasons, which is aimed towards getting new fans into stadiums whilst also rewarding the loyal supporters who attend each week.

“I’d like to personally thank P&O Ferries for their continued support for what is growing into a really strong relationship.”

P&O Ferries Director of Brand & Marketing Jordan Hewitt added:

“As proud Sponsors of Larne FC, going in 2025 we wanted to celebrate our ongoing and growing partnership with the club and the fans.

“We feel the best way to do this is to give something back to the local community by offering 500 free tickets, this not only supports the club but really puts the fans at the heart of our partnership.

“We are very excited to see where the season takes us this year and looking forward to amplifying our continued support to both the club and the fans.”
