The 23-year-old forward joined the Inver Reds in the summer of 2022 from fellow Sports Direct Premiership side Cliftonville. Having come through the academy of East Belfast’s Glentoran, O’Neill had his breakthrough campaign in 2019-20 when he scored 11 goals in 24 league appearances.
That same year he also won the Football Writers’ Association Young Player of the Year and was a regular feature for the Northern Ireland U21s. During his time at The Oval O’Neill scored 16 goals in 59 appearances before a brief spell at Cliftonville which saw him hit 9 in 55.
Upon joining the Inver Reds, the forward scored 13 across all competitions as he was part of the side which won a County Antrim Shield and Premiership double in his first season.
