Oval stalemate moves Larne one point closer

LARNE left the Oval with a valuable point following Friday’s 0-0 draw against Glentoran.

Gary Haveron’s men had to work hard for the result, which now leaves them needing one more point from the final game of the season at home to Dungannon Swifts to claim the Premiership title.

The home side had plenty of the ball in the first half, going close through Jordan Stewart and Pat Hoban. However, the Invermen were also a danger on the break when Leroy Millar shot over the bar after shot over the crossbar.

In the second half the home side continued to push for a winner, but once more Larne looked dangerous and almost sealed the title when both Matty Lusty and James Simpson brought a good save out of home goalkeeper Andrew Mills.

There are very limited tickets remaining for the final day decider at home to Dungannon Swifts on Saturday (5.30pm). You can secure yours HERE.
