LARNE Football Club is delighted to announce that our search for a new club mascot will begin this week!
Our ‘Design a Mascot’ initiative will involve P5 – P7 pupils from 14 local primary schools, who will put their creative skills to the test before submitting their final designs to the club for a final decision to be made.
It will all kick-off this week, with the entry forms being delivered to all the schools involved. The pupils will have until the closing date of Monday 9th December to design their mascot and provide the story behind their character. All designs should be handed in to teachers and will be collected by club staff after the competition has closed.
When the mascot is making its debut at Inver Park, the competition winner will be invited to walk out alongside the mascot, leading the teams on to the pitch!
Chairman Gareth Clements commented: “We are really looking forward to seeing what the pupils come up with for this competition.
“The process continues our efforts to liaise with and listen to our supporters. Seeing what goes down on paper brought to life on matchdays, to engage and entertain our support is an exciting thought.
“I urge people to get behind this project and wish them well with their submissions. It will be lovely for someone to be able to say, ‘I designed the mascot for the team I love and support.'”
We look forward to seeing lots of submissions over the coming weeks and wish everyone the best of luck. For more information, please contact deanhouston@larnefc.com
