We are delighted to announce contract extensions for three players at the club with Cian Bolger, Leroy Millar and Shaun Want all putting pen to paper at Inver Park in recent days.

All three players have enjoyed mightily impressive campaigns, culminating in winning the Gibson Cup for the first time in the club’s 134-year history, as well as County Antrim Shield success earlier in the season.

Defenders Cian, 31, and Shaun, 26, were both due to see their deals at the club expire this summer but have sealed new two-year contracts after a setting the club on route to a record-breaking season. The two players formed two thirds of the team’s defensive unit, alongside Aaron Donnelly, for much of the season.

Heading into the final game of the season, Larne have conceded just 19 goals in 37 league games. With the current record in the 12-team format sitting at 24 goals, the Invermen will no doubt be keen to write their names into the history books.

Leroy, 27, meanwhile capped a superb first season at Inver Park by scooping the Premiership Player of the Year at the prestigious NI Football Awards last weekend.

It was a well-deserved personal accolade in a season which saw him break into double figures for goals and now sees the contract he signed last summer extended further.

Boss Tiernan Lynch is delighted to see all three commit their futures to the club.

He said: “I’ve said before this is the best group I’ve worked with and all three lads have played a huge part in that.

“Our defensive record speaks for itself, which is great credit to the whole team. It’s also huge credit to Shaun, Cian and Aaron who only came together last season and have found such a great understanding.

“Their ability is clear for all to see and they would also be the first to tell you their jobs are made easier by everyone else around them.

“Leroy has been nothing short of superb since the day and hour he walked into the building. He is a joy to work with on and off the pitch and it’s evidence that hard work pays off.

“His efforts have been rewarded by those watching on with the awards he’s picked up and I’ve no doubt he will come back after a summer’s break just as focused and ready to go.

“I’m delighted that all three have signed new contracts at the club and want to help us push on next season.”
