Larne fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Lincoln Red Imps despite an early goal from Matty Lusty.
Lusty scored his second goal in three European outings to give Larne a 15th minute lead in the game played in Estadio Algarve in Portugal.
However the home side hit back with two goals before half-time to earn the 2-1 victory ahead of Thursday’s return leg at Inver Park.
