We are very pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Aidan McAdams, following his departure from Edinburgh City.
The 24-year-old arrives at Inver Park having signed an initial contract until the end of the season, after plying his trade in Scottish League 1 during the first half of this campaign.
The former Scotland under-19 shot stopper is returning for a second spell in the Irish League, following a loan spell with Portadown back in 2020.
Having begun his career in the development squads at both Celtic and Rangers, the Glasgow native has enjoyed permanent spells at Ayr United, Greenock Morton and Edinburgh City.
He joins fellow Scottish goalkeeper Rohan Ferguson in bolstering Tiernan Lynch’s options as we move into the second half of the campaign and Aidan is looking forward to getting started.
“I’m really glad to be here,” he said.
“I’ve always been keen to try a new challenge and the move to Larne allows me to do that, so I’m really excited to get that underway.
“This is a club moving in the right direction and that’s another reason why I’ve chosen to come here to Larne. It’s a challenge, but I’ve come here to try to get into the team.
“There are some familiar faces at the club from back in Scotland, who I’ve played with or against so hopefully that can help me settle in over the next few weeks.”
Boss Tiernan Lynch is pleased to make his first signing of the new window, having brought Aidan across the Irish Sea.
“We’re very pleased to bring Aidan to the club, especially having completed the move early in the window,” he said.
“In terms of a being a goalkeeper he’s still relatively young, but he has got good experience in senior football in Scotland and has had a taste of Irish League football as well.
“Having allowed Aidan Dowling to move on it was important that we strengthened the goalkeeping department and we’re looking forward to working with Aidan.”
Aidan will wear the number 36 shirt at Inver Park and you can hear his first interview as a Larne player on our social media channels later this evening.
