We are delighted to announce that Logan Wallace has signed a new long-term contract extension with the club.
The 19-year-old puts pen to paper on a fresh deal as a reward for his fine form so far this season, during which the defender has made seven first team appearances across all competitions.
Wallace arrived at Inver Park towards the end of then 2023/24 season, signing a professional contract following a transfer from Cliftonville. Having made first team appearances in the County Antrim Shield and BetMcLean Cup this season, the defender made his Sports Direct Premiership debut during November’s 2-1 victory over Glentoran, impressing supporters with a strong performance at The Oval.
Keeping his place in the team following his fine league debut, Wallace then started the next league game against Coleraine at Inver Park, once again producing a fine defensive display which included an excellent last gasp interception to ensure his team came away with all three points on the day.
Expressing his delight at Wallace’s new deal, Head of Football Nathan Rooney said:
“Logan is a fantastic young player who has really stepped up to establish himself as a senior player due to his ability to compete and his strong mentality. He has been part of youthful starting line-ups in cup competitions, during which he has shown real leadership qualities within that group and performed really well in those games and has slotted into a more senior group seamlessly against Glentoran and Coleraine in the Premiership – performing really well in both games.
“Despite being just 19 years of age, Logan is now getting plenty of senior experience and has all of the physical attributes required to dominate the centre of defence. I have no doubt that with hard work, some more senior games and time on the training pitch, Logan will continue to develop and improve his game long-term.”
Discussing his new deal, Logan Wallace added:
“This season has been great for me so far, being involved with the first team so often both in training and on matchdays. I feel as though I have made some big strides as a player over the past six months, so to be rewarded with a new deal gives me confidence that I can continue pushing on and improving from here.
“I’m really pleased to be able to commit my future to Larne, a club that has provided me with so many opportunities both in terms of playing but also through my education. I will continue putting in everything I have to please the club’s supporters, who have fantastic with me since I arrived last year.”
