With the domestic season now complete, take a read below to find out how our players out on loan have fared this campaign.
Josh Kee and Mikey Harkin
Josh Kee has spent the season on loan with the Lurgan Blues, joining at the end of the transfer window back in August. He only played for the side before the New Year, making a handful of appearances for Glenavon’s Reserves since.
He made his debut in August against Cliftonville and then went on to start in three of his next four league games against Dungannon Swifts, Linfield and Portadown. From the start of October to the end of December, Josh would make six more league appearances after coming off the bench. The final game of that six would be his last for the club, only making the bench on three occasions in 2026 in the Sports Direct Premiership.
In the Mid Ulster Cup, Josh started and played seventy-seven minutes against Coagh United, helping his side to a 4-0 win. In the next round against Annagh United he played the full ninety minutes, but saw his penalty saved in the shootout. He came off the bench away to Warrenpoint Town in the BetMcLean Cup, playing for only twenty minutes but still managing to bag a goal. He would then start in the next match against Newry City where they were eliminated while he remained on the bench for Clearer Water Irish Cup ties against Newington and Cliftonville.
Mikey Harkin also joined Glenavon later in the season after signing his first professional contract with Larne. He came on against Newington in the 4-2 Irish Cup win, playing fifty-four minutes, getting the assist for the fourth goal and then receiving a red card. His next appearance would be against Cliftonville, coming off the bench again. The young Inverman went on to make two more appearances from the bench against Linfield and Ballymena United, while remaining on the sideline for Carrick Rangers, Portadown, Bangor and Crusaders. He started in the final match of the season against Carrick and played his first full ninety minutes for the club and in senior football.
Oisin Devlin
Oisin Devlin went on loan to Bangor at the end of August. He quickly cemented his place in the starting eleven for Lee Feeney’s side, turning himself into a firm fan-favourite in the process before eventually signing for the Seasiders permanently after Christmas.
Only two days after joining, Oisin made his debut, coming off the bench in the 2-1 win against Dungannon Swifts. He made an impact after starting the next four games against Carrick Rangers in the Co. Antrim Shield and Portadown, Linfield and Coleraine in the league, playing a full ninety minutes in two. Oisin was benched for the BetMcLean Cup match against Lisburn Distillery, but was back in the starting lineup against Glenavon, Crusaders and Carrick, completing the first two games before receiving a straight red in the third.
The ex-Institute man made his return against Glentoran in the 1-1 draw at Clandeboye Park, starting the game before going on to start the next five league matches against Glenavon, Coleraine, Cliftonville, Dungannon Swifts and Ballymena United. Once again, the teenager played ninety minutes in four of the games, showing his importance to the newly-promoted side. His last match before his permanent transfer came when he was brought off the bench against Portadown to see out the last half hour in the 1-0 win.
Oisin then picked up an injury but recently started playing again a month ago. His performances throughout the season have helped ensure Bangor’s safety this season as he continued his development both while at Larne, and now at Bangor for the future.
Kobei Moore
Kobei Moore joined Dungannon Swifts in the winter transfer window and played his part in helping Dungannon to another top-six finish and Irish Cup final.
He came off the bench with twenty minutes to go against Glentoran to make his debut in his sides 2-0 loss, before going on to start the next five games against Portadown and Linfield twice and Cliftonville. Against Portadown in the Irish Cup he got the assist for the equaliser to help the Swifts overcome the Ports into the next round. The Englishman played another important role against Cliftonville two games later, being awarded NIFL’s Player of the Game award after an impressive shift throughout the 3-2 win.
Kobei got his first goal in the 3-0 Irish Cup victory over H & W Welders after coming off the bench in the first half. His first-time finish curled away from the outstretched keeper for the third goal on the day. He got his second goal two games later against Coleraine after running from the halfway line and placing the ball into the bottom corner. He played a role in the Swifts’ next two games, starting and playing over eighty minutes against Cliftonville in the Irish Cup semi-final and sixty minutes against Linfield, before coming off the bench against Glentoran and Cliftonville.
.Dungannon Swifts season is still ongoing, with a tight battle against Coleraine on Saturday past as they looked to defend their Irish Cup crown. The Swifts produced a spirited comeback but feel short in the end in the 3-2 defeat, with Kobei coming off the bench in the 83rd minute as they pushed for an equaliser.
Attentions will now turn to the European play-offs for Rodney McAree’s side on Wednesday night against Carrick Rangers as Kobei will aim to help the side secure their spot in the UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds.
Ambrose Ajala and Daniel Collett
Scholarship players Ambrose Ajala and Daniel Collett were out on loan to Queen’s University this season in the Playr-Fit Championship. With both having a taste of senior football.
Ambrose hit the ground running, starting the first four matches for Queen’s this season before the side faced Larne in the Co. Antrim Shield. He got his first goal for the club against Dundela in his second game, before scoring against Warrenpoint Town in the next match. After the Co. Antrim Shield game, he came off the bench against Limavady United and started against Armagh City, Ards, Loughgall and Ballinamallard United. He added to his goal tally with strikes against Ards, Loughgall and two in the 3-0 win over Ballinamallard. He would go on to play in every game until the end of 2025, starting in nine of them and coming off the bench in four. Ambrose would get another goal against both Annagh United and H & W Welders, as well as being awarded the Championship Player of the Week for his performance against Annagh.
Since the New Year, Ambrose missed only two games out of sixteen, one for an accumulation of yellow cards and another as an unused substitute. The 18-year old striker started in four of the matches and came off the bench in ten, getting another three goals against H & W Welders, Ards and Annagh United. In total, he made thirty-eight appearances, started twenty-one games and scored eleven goals. He finished the season as Queen’s University’s top goalscorer.
Daniel Collett suffered from a broken finger at the start of the season, seeing him miss a number of games. Since then, he has gone on to be the backup keeper for the Students, making the bench on twenty-nine occasions. Dan also has made his senior debut during his loan spell. He started in the Irish Cup game away to Carrick and played the full ninety, with the Amber Army getting the win.
Dan has also played some youth football for Queen’s this season, starting and finishing three matches for their U21 side against Dollingstown, Newington and Ballyclare Comrades, with the goalkeeper even grabbing a goal against Dollingstown.
Jack Hastings
Jack Hastings joined Playr-Fit Championship side Armagh City in early September before returning to the club after Christmas. During his time with the Eagles, he made fifteen appearances and registered four goals.
Jack started strong for new his club, making nine appearances by mid-October in which he started six of the matches and played two full games. During that period, the club got one of their four league wins and dumped Carrick Rangers out of the BetMcLean Cup at Taylor’s Avenue. Jack got his first goal against Loughgall in the Mid Ulster Cup, which was enough to see them into the semi-finals. After picking up an injury, he wouldn’t play again until December and by the time he returned to the pitch, manager Shea Campbell had been released.
He made his return and earned Armagh their first win in a month. After coming on in the sixty-sixth minute away to Dundela, he scored only a minute later, getting onto the end of a ball over the top of the defence and coolly slotting it past the goalkeeper. The pair played for Portstewart in league games and the various cups the intermediate side challenged for.
