We are delighted to announce Matthew Cross and Mark Cromie as Lead Coaches for our U13 National League side, which will feature as part of the club’s exciting new Professional Development Phase.
Matthew Cross, a UEFA A Licence holder, joins our academy set-up having most recently coached at Glentoran U18s. To accompany his wealth of experience in domestic football, Cross is also the role of Head Coach at Belfast Sparta Futsal Club.
Joining him at Inver Park is Mark Cromie, who most recently held the position as Head of Foundation Phase at Glenavon Academy. Having also coached Glenavon U18s, Cromie has previously spent time coaching at college soccer level in the USA and is a current UEFA B Licence holder.
Ryan Prentice, our Head of Professional Development Phase, believes the appointments are a major coup for the club’s academy:
“I am really pleased that Matthew and Mark have agreed to come onboard the exciting new journey that is our Professional Development Phase programme. The two individuals are very well-respected as coaches throughout Northern Ireland, and I believe they will work extremely well together as Lead Coaches of our U13 side.
“We have all been working extremely hard over the past number of months to ensure that the club’s Professional Development Phase will begin to flourish next season and providing our U13s with two quality coaches is another positive step in the right direction.
“Having already announced the involvement of Albert Watson (U16s), Mark Randall (U15s), and Daniel Kearns (U14s) we will be making further announcements in the coming weeks regarding more new coaches and developments ahead of next season.”
Larne Football Club’s new Professional Development Phase targets players born in 2008-2011, aiming to enhance performance at youth level via a combination of first-class facilities, top quality coaching, increased contact time and a better introduction to analysis/strength and conditioning.
