Larne v Carnmoney Athletic

It was hard to fault Larne performance, they are learning to think about the game and improve their decision making. They can look for passes, run into space and give options. The first third was played almost entirely in the Carnmoney half with goals from Jodie, India and Mia (2).
Carnmoney stepped up their physicality in the second half. However, the Larne defence stayed strong.

Player of the match- Mia Campbell

Larne v North End United

This was a return fixture after last week’s game. The girls were much quicker to get into the game this week which may have caught the boys by surprise. Larne took about 20-25 shots and scored three great goals. A superb individual goal from Mia and two persistent team efforts were rewarded with goals from Roxy Robb and Orla Curneen.

There was also strong defensively apart from a few small lapses. All three goalkeepers made good saves during their stints in goal (Mia, Roxy and Orla).

Player of the match- Orla Curneen. She really stepped up in goal making some great saves. She also made lots of accurate forward passes, strong tackles and a deserved goal.

Larne v Carnmoney

Larne battled well against a strong Carnmoney side. They found it hard to get into their usual flow of passing, however, it led to goals from Amber O’Toole, Holly McKeen and Gracie Hodge. Most goals against Larne were scored from outside the box when they didn’t close down quickly enough. However, there was another strong defensive performance from Eryn Wilson and Luci Brownlee.

Player of the week- Amber O’Toole, picked by the Carnmoney coach for her quick feet and goal.

Larne 3-7 Ballymena

Larne made a good start with 2 goals from Annie McCann and Sophie Aiston. Ballymena applied pressure but the girls battled back. The shots dried up and Ballymena led at the break.

Ballymena’s physicality showed in the second half and Larne found themselves further behind. Some great play in the midfield and attack led to Sophia’s second. Unfortunately, they were unable to convert their chances.

Larne 4-0 Bloomfield Ladies

Another solid performance from the girls, they controlled the game and deserved their victory. Larne had no subs so the players were tired but they still managed another goal.
Eimear Ward was the hattrick hero and Sophia Manning had a sublime outside of the foot finish.

Larne 3-3 St. Oliver Plunkett’s

The girls played some good football and were unlucky to go 1-0 down early on. They later dug in and got an equaliser through Morgan Beattie. It was a top drawer finish from outside the box. The girls kept pressing and were unfortunate to be kept out by the goalkeeper. The 3rd goal came from a bit of play where Sophia McFaul netted from range. The girls thought they had sealed the victory and the Plunkett girls equalised with 5 minutes to go.
