Larne 2012 Girls v Grove

A depleted Larne squad took on a physically imposing Grove side on a miserable morning weather-wise. Despite this the girls played well and defended brilliantly, they got the ball forward quickly from throw-ins also. The Grove keeper made a number of quality saves and Larne was unable to get past her. It was a really gutsy performance in the cold and rain and the girls were unlucky not to get a win.

Larne 2013s v Ballyclare

It was a miserable morning but the girls did not let that deter them. It didn’t take long for Larne to settle into their groove and take control of the game. Anna and Devone scored two great first-half goals to put Larne in the lead. Ballyclare came out fighting in the second half but the girls were able to hold their own. It was an end to end battle towards the end but Larne battled and held on for a victory.

Larne v Ballywalter

This was a super game from the girls who got off to a quick start when Sofia crossed for Gracie to finish at the back post. This set the tempo for how Larne would play and dominate for the rest of the game. Amber scored 3, Ellie in midfield found the net twice and Sophie grabbed a goal. It was a well-deserved win for the girls who gel well together as a team.

Player of the match – Amber O’Toole

Larne v Lisburn Youth

This was a fantastic performance from the girls who gave 100% from the first whistle. It was only their 3rd match together but they are growing in confidence and belief. Mia O’Flaherty, Alix Wilson, Chloe Morrow with 2 and Clare McAleese were the goalscorers. The hard work in training is beginning to pay off.

Larne v Ballyclare

The girls had to endure tough weather conditions with a strong wing and heavy rain. They played into the wind in the first half and found it hard to get out of their half. Ballyclare scored in the first half all from distance with two of their girls able to smash the ball past the keeper. The Larne girls had the wind in the second half and played well but could not convert their chances.

Player of the match – Karis Aicken

Larne v Crumlin

The girls found it hard to get going in the first half with many players being forced to play in new positions. They began to press harder in the second half, closing down the opposition well. Larne hit the post, the side netting and had shots blocked off the line. Annie McCann was a goalscorer on her birthday. On another day they would have scored more but they were unlucky in front of the goal.
