Larne 2010 Jets put in an impressive performance at Inver Park on Sunday as they welcomed Andytown Community Football Club – a rematch of the recent match between the sides in West Belfast.
In the first encounter, a late goal saw the young Larne side come out on top but in this match Larne managed to score five well-worked goals. They also felt unfortunate to lose their clean sheet, as a deflected shot fell at the feet of an opposition player who was able to calmly slot the ball home.
Jacob Mudd grabbed two of the goals, to continue his impressive record, making it seven goals in just three games. Alex McHendry also got a double in the game and Rory Kennedy, who is showing huge improvements this year, got the last goal of the game from the penalty spot after Riley Hall had has shot blocked on the line with a handball.
Manager of the team Alan Hall, said: “It’s great to see the team making huge improvements week on week, with every game we play. I feel that some of these boys are now ready to make the step up to a higher level and test themselves more for the upcoming season.
“I think the performance today was brilliant and the attitude of the young team certainly matched it, even with it being our second game in three days.”
