The Opposition

Carrick come into this game in a difficult run of form, with one draw and four defeats in their last five league outings. This run has seen Carrick slip to 10th in the table, three points clear of the relegation play-off place. In the previous meetings between the sides this season, a 0-0 draw was played out at Inver Park in September, while Larne came from behind to win the festive derby 3-1 in December.

The Inver Reds

Since Larne last played the Invermen have slipped to fifth place in the table, three points behind Crusaders. Tiernan Lynch’s men have, however, secured a place in the top six for the third time in a row since promotion back to the top flight. Just two games now remain ahead of the league ‘split’. The incentive for the remainder of the season is now to produce as high a league finish as possible, which is likely to determine whether or not Larne will enjoy home advantage in the end-of-season European play-off campaign.
