The long-awaited 2024 Sports Direct Women’s Premiership season kicks off at Inver Park this Sunday, as Larne take on Lisburn Ladies in a 3pm kick-off.
A busy day awaits at Inver Park before and after the Inver Women take centre stage with their opening league game, and supporters attending are encouraged to read the below information.
CHAMPIONS FUN DAY
Inver Park will be open from 12pm on Sunday as we host our Champions Fun Day event pre-match. As part of the event, supporters will be able to enjoy a BBQ, inflatables and bouncy castles, refreshments, music as well as photo opportunities with the Gibson Cup.
The fun day will run up until 3pm, allowing supporters to head straight into the women’s game after you have enjoyed the pre-match festivities.
ENTRY & PARKING
Admission into Sunday’s game is completely free of charge. While entry fees will be applicable for the rest of our Premiership home games this season, we want as many supporters as possible to enjoy Sunday’s day out and get behind the Inver Reds during the match.
Due to the fun day taking place pre-match, those attending the game are advised that there will be no car parking available within the stadium and supporters are encouraged to be mindful of church services taking place in and around the stadium, and of residents, when parking.
POST-MATCH ENTERTAINMENT
Following the final whistle on the pitch, 1889 Sports & Social Club will be hosting their ‘Cinco de Mayo Celebrations’ event inside the bar. With drinks promotions aplenty, you can enjoy live DJ sets by Ging, Hendi, Longers and Kris P from 5pm.
MATCH PREVIEW
Larne kick-start their top-flight campaign on Sunday following a busy pre-season period, which came to an end with an impressive 11-1 victory over Civil Service Ladies at the end of April.
The Inver Reds have significantly recruited this summer and this week brought in Kate Nicolson, Maddie Brant, Stacey Qosja and Maddie Storey from the university soccer scene in the United States to bolster the squad for 2024.
Summer signing Tara Gilmore is expected to make her top-flight debut on Sunday, having joined from Ballyclare Comrades and impressed during pre-season. Deadline day signing Danni Jennings, who joined from our opponents Lisburn Ladies, could also make her club debut after training with her new teammates this week.
The Inver Women secured victory against Lisburn Ladies last time out in a 3-2 victory which saw forward Erin Montgomery score a debut hat-trick to claim all three points on the night.
Sunday’s opposition come into their new season with the aim of building on an impressive 5th place finish in last season’s Sports Direct Premiership, and will be hoping to further progress on that position.
