134th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Tonight’s matchday experience will be much more than just 90 minutes of football, with our 134th birthday celebrations taking place before and after the game. Take a look at what it includes:

Pre-match

1889 Sports and Social Club will be open from 5pm for those who wish to enjoy the build-up to the East Antrim derby with a pre-match drink.

From 6pm, there will be a walkabout magician and kids’ entertainment in the vicinity of Inver Park. Complimentary party bags will also be given out to the first 100 Primary School kids to come through the gates.

Half-time

During the break in the East Antrim derby, you’re invited to participate in a huge game of pass the parcel across all home stands and blocks.

Our PA team at Inver Park will explain the process before the game starts, with plenty of club merchandise prizes up for grabs!

Post-match

After the action is completed on the pitch, 1889 Sports and Social Club will be the place to be. A complimentary shot awaits the first 134 supporters to enter after the game to get the celebrations started.

David Walker will be providing the entertainment on stage with a live acoustic set from 9.30pm, alongside other gestures to ensure that the club’s 134 years is celebrated in style!

Do I need a match ticket to attend the birthday celebrations?

You will need a match ticket to attend 1889 Sports & Social Club before 9.30pm tomorrow night. However, once the match is over, 1889 Sports & Social Club is open to everyone!

MIDNIGHT EXPRESS SHUTTLE BUS

Alongside our birthday celebrations, our ‘Midnight Express’ shuttle bus service will be back in operation following a successful trial. The shuttle bus is completely free of charge for supporters and runs will leave at 11.30pm, 12am and 12.30am from outside of 1889 Sports & Social Club.

Seats will be filled on a first come, first serve basis and will drop off at the following locations: Circular Rd, Princess Gardens, Smiley Buildings, The Roddens, Linn Rd, Lindara, Killyglen Rd, Ballycraigy Rd, Seacourt, Boyne Square.

CAR PARKING

Supporters are to be aware that due to limited spaces, the car park within Inver Park will not be open to supporters attending the game.

For those driving to the game, parking facilities are available in nearby areas including Laharna Retail Park and Riverdale, both of which are just a short walk to the stadium.

We would also like to remind supporters to be mindful and aware of residents who live just outside the stadium and to not block access to private properties when parking your car within this area.

THE INVER REDS

After a frustrating scoreless draw at Stangmore Park last Friday, the Invermen will be looking to bounce back with all three points at Inver Park tonight.

With Andy Ryan still coming back from injury, Tiernan Lynch will be looking to Lee Bonis and Paul O’Neill to find their goalscoring form in the East Antrim derby.

The Inver Reds have made Inver Park a fortress in the Sports Direct Premiership, having gone undefeated since November last year, and will no doubt be keen to extend that record this evening.

THE OPPOSITION

Carrick Rangers come to Inver Park for the second time in the space of a month, with Stuart King’s side falling to a 4-1 defeat in the last meeting between the sides.

Last weekend, the Amber Army fell to a 2-1 defeat to league leaders Linfield after back-to-back wins against Glentoran and Loughgall in the Sports Direct Premiership.

After getting Carrick’s only goal at Inver last month with a long-range strike, Danny Purkis will once again be the man that Stuart King will look towards to provide the goal threat tonight.
