THE INVER REDS
It’s been an unbeaten start to the defence of the Gibson Cup for Tiernan Lynch’s men in the Sports Direct Premiership so far, after the Inver Reds followed up their opening day draw against Dungannon Swifts with a 2-1 victory at The Oval against Glentoran.
Scottish striker Andy Ryan has started the season in great form for the Invermen, finding the back of the net in both games so far and he will be looking to make it three from three at Inver Park tonight.
The club are still working to finalise the deal for new loan signing Jaziel Orozco, who will be unavailable for tonight’s game. Aaron Donnelly will face a late fitness test once again, after being unable to make it in time for Friday night’s game. Cain Bolger will also require a late fitness test after recent injury concerns, while Mark Randall and Thomas Maguire remain sidelined.
TONIGHT’S OPPOSITION
Ballymena United have endured a tough start to life under Jim Ervin, with two defeats in their opening two games of the Sports Direct Premiership so far.
The Sky Blues didn’t get the luck of the draw when the fixtures were released. Having faced Coleraine and Crusaders ahead of tonight’s visit to Inver Park, Jim Ervin’s men will welcome Linfield and Glentoran to the Ballymena Showgrounds in their next two league games.
New signing, and recently appointed captain, Colin Coates will be suspended for tonight’s game after receiving a straight red card against Crusaders at the weekend.
