The Opposition

St Joseph’s arrive for their first competitive match in Northern Ireland, following last week’s 0-0 draw at the Victoria Stadium. Having been taken over by former Burnley Chairman Mike Garlick in the summer, the Blues added players with experience in the English game to the spine of their team. Goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons was particularly impressive in goal as he helped his new side, managed by Abraham Paz, keep a clean sheet on the night.

The Inver Reds

Tiernan Lynch declared himself pleased with Larne’s resolute performance in energy-sapping conditions, in last week’s first leg. With away goals no longer counting in European competitions, a winner must be found on the night, whether that be in 90 minutes, or the use of extra-time or penalties. The Invermen expect to have a full panel of players to choose from after the squad came through the first leg unscathed.
