Landmark Match Guide: Larne v Linfield

Apr 20, 2023 | All News, Match Guide

Friday brings one of the biggest nights in the club’s history as the Gibson Cup will be presented to Larne for the first time in our 134-year history. Read below for all you need to know ahead of the big match, which kicks off at 7.45pm.

TICKETS AND ENTRY

All home tickets for Friday’s game have completely sold out, in all three sections of the ground. People are reminded not to arrive at Inver Park unless they have a valid ticket for the match. Supporters are also not advised to buy tickets from those online claiming to have spares. If for whatever reason you have tickets that you no longer require, please help us to reissue these by emailing info@larnefc.com. Refunds are available

Details on Linfield’s allocation for this match will be communicated directly from the Windsor Park club.

For those not able to make the match in person, the game is being streamed by BBC Sport NI, on their website and iPlayer.

Supporters can park their cars at Riverdale Car Park, Murrayfield Shopping Centre or Laharna Retail Park, all of which are just a short walk to the stadium, as well as 1st Larne Presbyterian Church car park, where a small charity donation can be made. Please be mindful and respectful of our neighbours when arriving at the stadium – we also ask that you arrive early where possible, with likely traffic congestion on the Inver Road.

1889 SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB

The 1889 will be open from 5pm for all supporters who want to call in before or after the big match. Supporters should look out for Matchday Specials on offer.

From 6.30pm, merchandise for JH24 Benefit Year will be available to purchase within the club. This includes pint glasses, cups and other confectionary items.

CLUB SHOP

The club shop will have a special 30% OFF sale and will also feature the start of some special Champions memorabilia and collectibles.  Make sure and call in!  More ranges and collectibles to be launched in the coming weeks. We also have our popular home, away and third shirts in stock (in limited sizes) as well as mugs, glasses, 1889 range and much more.

ARRVING AT INVER

  • Please come to the stadium as early as possible and enjoy the pre-match entertainment that we have arranged.  Only those with match tickets will be permitted into the stadium pre and post-game. Those without tickets will not be able to watch the game in the 1889
  • Please have your tickets ready to present on initial entry into the stadium, approaching turnstiles and each time you re-enter the stadium.  We ask that you refrain from exiting and entering the stadium any more the necessary during the game
  • As the game is a complete sell-out, no tickets will be available for sale in the stadium.

BARS AROUND THE STADIUM

  • In order to cope with the demand for 1889 Sports & Social Club on the night, we will have a number of additional bars in operation around the stadium. We will have one bar in the main car park, two bars in the Main Stand Fanzone and one bar in the Church End to ensure that supporters can get served as fast as possible.
  • These additional bars will be available to supporters both pre and post-game and will have entertainment in their vicinity to ensure a great atmosphere throughout the stadium. We encourage you to try these outdoor bars due to the 1889 reaching capacity early. Please note that smart cards will not be facilitated at any additional bars.
  • A large screen will stream the game in the fanzone for those who prefer to enjoy the game from there.  Again, this will only be for people with a match ticket.

MOVEMENT AROUND THE STADIUM

  • We ask all spectators to make their way to their area of the stadium as early as possible to avoid long queues before kick-off and the risk of a surge.  We also want to create a big atmosphere in the stadium arena for the welcoming of the players on to the pitch.
  • Please sit in the allocated block that your ticket displays and cooperate with stewards, particularly around keeping walkways clear.
  • There will be food and drink kiosks in all areas of the stadium (including a hot food van in the Church End) and therefore there will be no movement of fans into other areas of the stadium during the game.

THE TROPHY PRESENTATION

  • At the end of the game, we plan to conduct the trophy presentation within 10 mins of the final whistle.  We would encourage you to stay in the stadium at the final whistle.
  • Celebrations will include an official trophy lift followed by laps of honour around the pitch for everyone to enjoy.  Our players and staff will interact with fans as they always do to ensure plenty of great pics.  Please avoid a surge to the front of stands and be mindful of younger children in the stadium.  Unfortunately, no spectators will be permitted on the pitch at any time.

KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE

We would ask that all children stay with their adults and that all parents ensure that their child knows to make themselves known to a steward if they do get lost or separated from their parent/supervising adult.
