Landmark Match Guide: Larne v Glentoran

Apr 7, 2023 | All News

The Split has arrived in the Danske Bank Premiership. There are just five games left to play and the first of those will be at home to Glentoran on Friday evening at 7.45pm. Here’s all you need to know ahead of the big game.

TICKETS AND ENTRY

Tickets are on sale for home fans from the Larne Academy of Sport until 4pm today, and will be on sale at the stadium ahead of kick-off from 6.45pm. Entry is priced at £12 for adults and £8 for concessions, and just £2 for all under-11’s accompanied by an adult.

Alongside tickets for tonight’s game, supporters will also be able to purchase tickets for our Easter Tuesday fixture against Cliftonville which are now on general sale.

Glentoran’s allocation for this game has sold out.

For those not able to make the match in person, the game is being streamed by BBC Sport NI, on their website and iPlayer.

Both home and away supporters are advised that there will be limited parking availability around Inver Park on Friday night, due to Good Friday services being held at St. Cedma’s and First Larne on the Inver Road. As a result, the First Larne car park which normally facilitates home supporters will not be open. Supporters can park their cars at Riverdale Car Park, Murrayfield Shopping Centre or Laharna Retail Park, all of which are just a short walk to the stadium.

Please be mindful and respectful of the ongoing services when arriving at the stadium – we also ask that you arrive early where possible, with likely traffic congestion on the Inver Road.

1889 SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB

The 1889 will be open from 5pm for all supporters who want to call in before or after the big match. Supporters should look out for Matchday Specials on offer.

From 6.30pm, merchandise for JH24 Benefit Year will be available to purchase within the club. This includes pint glasses, cups and other confectionary items.

CLUB SHOP

The Club Shop at Inver Park will be open from 6.45pm, stocked with the new range of Nike merchandise, which was on offer at our pop-up shop in December.

We also have our popular home, away and third shirts in stock as well as mugs, glasses, 1889 range and much more.

OUR VISITORS

Rodney McAree’s men won their final pre-split fixture over Portadown on Saturday to move into fourth place in the table, ahead of this one. McAree has stated their aim for the remainder of the season is to ensure automatic European qualification, which likely means a top two finish.

Jay Donnelly bagged a hat-trick for the Glens in that 5-1 victory over Portadown, while fellow forward Danny Purkis has also been in good form lately.

THE INVER REDS

While Larne were knocked out of the Irish Cup at the semi-final stage last weekend, you have to go back to the Monday 2nd January for the Invermen’s last league defeat.

Tiernan Lynch’s men are five points clear at the top coming into these final five games of the season. Randy Wolters is cleared for a potential debut having served a two-match suspension accumulated in the Netherlands.
