Landmark Match Guide: Larne v Carrick Rangers

Dec 24, 2022 | All News

Boxing Day football returns to Inver Park for the first time in three years as we welcome Carrick Rangers. A bumper crowd is expected for this 5.30pm kick-off and you can find out all you need to know in our Landmark Match Guide below.

Tickets and entry

Tickets remain on sale for all fans HERE. Entry is priced at £12 for adults and £8 for concessions, with tickets also available for £2 for all Primary School-aged children accompanied by an adult.

A very limited number of free U11 tickets remain on sale, which can be picked up by using discount code LFC200 at checkout.

A limited number of tickets are available for all three areas of the stadium and – with a bumper holiday crowd expected – supporters are strongly advised to purchase online and arrive in good time to avoid queues at the turnstiles.

1889 Sports & Social Club & Supporter Information

The 1889 will be open from 12.30pm with special Matchday Offers for all fans.

Supporters are asked to create as much space as possible, while our outdoor fanzone will be open offering the outdoor bar and TukTuk service for faster receipt of drinks.

The bar beneath the Church End will open at 4.30pm and those in that stand are encouraged to make their way down there to spread the crowd further across all bars.

We are also looking forward to welcoming World Boccia Champion Claire Taggart on to the pitch at half-time to welcome home our world champion.

Club Shop

Our Club Shop at Inver Park will be closed for this game, with stock having been moved to our pop-up shop on the Main Street. However, we are looking forward to reopening the shop at the stadium in 2023 with a new range of merchandise which has been available throughout December.

The Inver Read

You will be able to get your hands on the brand new December edition of the Inver Read, our monthly magazine, at Monday’s match from the Tea & Coffee Kiosk.

We have a jam-packed edition, including interviews with Leroy Millar and Mark Randall talking us through his team-mates. James Cooper also interviews new board member James McIlroy, while chairman Gareth Clements gives us his review of 2022.

Our visitors

Carrick Rangers come into this fixture off the back of three defeats in their last three outings. Stuart King’s side have, however, enjoyed an improved season to date and currently sit in eighth place. Defender Jim Ervin and forward Eamon McGuckin are suspended while on-loan Larne midfielder Andy Mitchell will be unavailable for this game.

The only meeting between the sides so far this season was settled by an impressive strike from Shea Gordon back in September at Taylor’s Avenue.

The Inver Reds

Larne’s last scheduled outing was postponed last week because of a frozen pitch at the Ballymena Showgrounds. However, Tiernan Lynch’s men have won two out of two in their December fixtures with victories against Glenavon and Newry City.

Ahead of the Boxing Day derbies kicking off, Larne lead the Danske Bank Premiership two points ahead of Cliftonville.
