Larne Ladies have been saddened to learn first team goalkeeper Leanne Glass must retire from the game early.

The short stopper has a shoulder injury which means she must hang up her gloves much earlier than anticipated.

Glass signed for the Inver Women in February of 2020 from Chimney Corner Ladies, having previously played for Ballymena United Ladies and turned out a total of 27 times in a season which was cut short by COVID-19.

Manager William Noble was gutted to learn the news of Leanne’s early retirement.

He said: ‘We were devastated when we heard the news about Leanne.

“We knew she had been struggling with the shoulder injury for some time including through last season, however we did not realise it was as severe as this.

“I would like to put on record that Leanne has always gave 100% and always put a smile on everyone’s face around the changing room and I would like to wish Leanne all the best for the future.”

Larne Ladies would like to thank Leanne for everything she has done for the club over the 2 years she has been at the club and wish her every success for the future.
