We are delighted to announce the signing of centre forward Joe Tully from Ballyclare Comrades, ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline.

Joe has been in impressive form for the Comrades in this season’s Bluefin Sport Championship campaign to date, scoring 16 goals in 21 games.

The 21-year-old has been on the books of the Comrades since the summer of 2018, having previously played underage football at Ballymena United and Cliftonville.

Boss Tiernan Lynch is excited to bring Joe to the club, he said: “Joe has just broken on to the scene in the Championship.

“He is big, strong and powerful and still with a lot to learn, so he is an exciting prospect.

“I was hugely impressed with Joe when I met him. He doesn’t lack confidence and is really hungry for success.

“A lot of people talk about Larne and that we buy ready made players and so on, but this shows this club is about building foundations.

“We want to bring players in who want to come on this journey with us and I think we’ve found one in Joe.”

Having played for the Comrades earlier in the competition, Joe is cup-tied and therefore not eligible for Saturday’s Irish Cup Sixth Round tie at Dixon Park, against his former side.

He will, however, be in contention for the trip to Institute in the Danske Bank Premiership, next Saturday. Joe will wear the number 14 shirt at Inver Park.
