We are pleased to announce that Jaziel Orozco has now received his work permit, allowing his season-long loan deal from MLS side Real Salt Lake to be completed.
The 19-year-old, who can play both in midfield and defence, joins from the American top-tier outfit having spent the beginning of the year on loan at Liga MX side Santos Laguna in Mexico.
Born in Mexico, Orozco was raised in the USA and made the move to Salt Lake City in 2020 when he signed for RSL’s affiliate club Real Monarchs. After impressing in the USL Championship, the player signed a homegrown player contract with Real Salt Lake and made his MLS debut in March 2022, going on to make a total of four appearances in the 2021/22 season.
Speaking on making the move to the Inver Reds, Jaziel said:
“I’m delighted to be here. Being in Northern Ireland and meeting up with my coaches and team-mates, I just can’t wait to start playing games for the team.
“I’m really looking forward to playing in different stadiums, different environments and overall, a different challenge as I need to adapt quickly, but I’m just excited about getting started.
“The experience I have been able to gain in the MLS will give me much confidence going into games over here and not be afraid to get on the ball and do my game.”

“Jaziel has had to be patient since coming over a few weeks ago but he has shown a great attitude and commitment in training and has been working hard since he arrived.
“He seems to have settled in with the rest of the boys very quickly and I’m sure he can’t wait to get on the pitch in the very near future.”
