Inver’s summer improvements gather pace

IT is not only on the pitch where exciting new developments are taking place at Inver Park.

Tiernan Lynch’s men have been working hard in pre-season for our Danske Bank Premiership return, and the drive to continue to improve facilities at the ground is also gathering great momentum.

Last summer, ahead of the 2018/19 season, major work took place at Inver. This saw the installation of a new synthetic pitch to FIFA standards, brand new floodlights, the main grandstand doubled in size and the introduction of the Agnew Lounge.

Now, as we get ready to welcome the country’s top clubs in the season ahead, we are working towards the completion on the Bleach Green end stand and a total refurbishment of the main social club.

Work to add the roof to the Bleach Green end is ongoing, and we anticipate this being completed by the middle of July. Following this, toilet blocks and turnstiles at that end will be next on the agenda, as we look to have the stand fully operational for the Premiership season.

Meanwhile, Skyline Contracts Limited have appointed as the main contractor for the refurbishment of the main social club.

Last season, demand outstripped space available to us in the ‘Wee Bar’ and we are excited to see a new top class facility opened on the site of the original club.

Demolition and preparatory works began on site on Wednesday 26th June with an overall desired completion date of Friday 9th August. So, while there are a number of factors outside our control, we anticipate being able to open the doors of the refurbished club for our opening game of the season, at home to Warrenpoint Town, a day later.

The services of an interior designer have also been enlisted, as we look to make it a top venue on both matchdays and for various other functions throughout the week.

We will keep fans updated throughout the summer on these exciting new developments.
