Two goals from substitute Paul O’Neill sealed League Cup progress against a dogged Ards side at Clandeboye Park.
First half strikes from Sean Graham and Andy Ryan, saw Larne come from a goal down to lead 2-1 at the break.
The home side levelled in the second half, before retaking the lead through O’Neill.
The game was tied again at 3-3 to take the game into extra-time, before goals from Lee Bonis and O’Neill clinched a 5-3 victory on the night.
The quarter-final draw means Linfield will travel to Inver Park next month as the two sides battle it our for a last four spot.
