Invermen claim sixth consecutive win

A goal in either half saw Larne clinch a 2-0 win over Carrick Rangers in the first East Antrim derby of the season at Inver Park.

The Invermen broke the deadlock on 23 minutes when Conor McKendry’s cross from the right found James Simpson at the back post and the teenager squared fro Matty Lusty to make it 1-0.

Carrick started the second half strongly, but Larne rounded off the scoring on 86 minutes when Dan Bent was able to finish from close range, after Sean Graham’s corner had been palmed on to the crossbar.
