We are delighted to announce the signing of Irish defender Ryan Nolan.

The 25-year-old central defender arrives after a spell in Spain with Hercules, having enjoy a career which has taken him to four different countries so far.

The County Clare native began his youth career at Inter Milan, having been scouted in Spain, where he spent much of his childhood.

After three years at the San Siro, he moved back to Spain to enjoy a spell with Getafe, before stints in the UK with Northampton and Raith Rovers.

Capped for the Republic of Ireland up until under-18 level, Nolan now moves to Inver Park, following International Clearance.

He is looking forward to life with the Invermen, saying: “My roots are in Ireland, I spent time here until I was eight years old so I’m looking forward to coming back and showing my potential.

“Playing in the Scottish Championship two years ago will help me I think, it’s quite similar in terms of the style of play and the physicality.

“I would describe myself as a defender first and first foremost. Spending time in Spain and Italy I’ve hopefully learned the other side of the game on the ball too, so I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

Boss Tiernan Lynch is equally looking forward to working with his latest signing.

He added: “As we’ve said before we are always keen to strengthen what we have here, if that opportunity arises.

“Ryan comes to us having played at a good level and having experienced different styles of football in his career so far.

“We’re looking forward to working with him and having him as part of the group.”
