LARNE Women are delighted to announce a double signing on the eve of the Premiership campaign.
The Inver Women kick-off their first-ever top flight season on Sunday away to Sion Swifts and will be boosted by the arrivals of Starr Dougherty from Glentoran and Cora Henderson, formerly of Linfield.
Cora, a central midfielder, and Starr, a full-back by trade, arrive to bolster the team ahead of the big kick-off.
William Noble, Director of Women’s Football, is delighted to welcome both women to the club.
On Cora’s arrival, William said:
“We identified Cora as a target for midfield upon hearing that she had left Linfield.
“She made an immediate impact at training as a great communicator and bringing a great energy and passion.
“Having got game time in pre-Season, Cora has put herself in the mix to be a first team regular and we are excited to see what she can bring to the team during the season ahead.”
Meanwhile, Starr moves from another of the top flight’s biggest clubs and William is excited to see the quality she can bring to the senior set-up.
“When we heard that there was an opportunity to sign Starr from Glentoran we immediately made a move,” he added.
“Starr was a stand-out at Glentoran under 19’s over the past couple of seasons and we knew she could add to what we were building in our squad for this season.
“Unfortunately, Starr has been hampered with injuries in pre-season but we have saw enough to know she will be a great addition to our first team squad and we look forward to Starr being full fit and pushing to start in the team.”
