Inver Park set for Tennent’s Irish Cup last 16 clash

SATURDAY promises to be another big day at Inver Park, with a place in the Tennent’s Irish Cup quarter-finals at stake, as we welcome Crumlin Star.

Larne enjoyed a 2-1 win over Premiership side Newry City in Round 5, while Crumlin Star ran out 4-1 winners in an impressive display away to Loughgall in the previous round.

Star are enjoying a fine season themselves, with eight wins from eight games in the Amateur League Premier division, having also collected the Border Cup at Christmas.

First team boss Tiernan Lynch knows this provides all the warning that will be needed going into Saturday’s tie.

“We watched them earlier in January when we had no game and they are a very workmanlike side who have a never-say-die attitude,” he said.

“They will will get the same respect that Carrick did last week, as we prepared for that game.

“Our job is to be professional in everything we do and hopefully that gets us to where we want to go.

“It’s the Irish Cup and it always gives the extra bit of spice. They’re doing very well and have some good players, but we have to look after ourselves and we have to set up accordingly.”

Admission prices are set at £10 and £5 for Concessions. Fan are reminded that Season Tickets and Larne Youth passes are NOT valid for this, as it is a cup match.

Crumlin Star fans will be housed in the Church End terracing of Inver Park, entering through the turnstiles at the side of St Cedmas Church, just off the Inver Road.

Finally, the club would appeal again for everyone attending the match to park with care around the stadium. Please take care to not cause an obstruction to residents trying to get in and out of their properties.

The car park at First Larne Presbyterian Church will be open from 1pm, with all users asked to make a donation to the nominated charity on the day.
