We are pleased to confirm that Gary Haveron will become a permanent part of Tiernan Lynch’s backroom staff, transitioning from his role as Academy Director.

Haveron, who has balanced being part of our senior coaching team alongside his role as Academy Director since the beginning of pre-season, will now focus his full attention towards first team operations.

The change in position comes as part of an exciting revamp within our academy, which has so far seen the appointments of Ryan Prentice (Head of our Professional Development Phase) and Jeff Hughes (Head of our Youth Development Phase).

Having been responsible for overseeing the club’s academy on a full-time basis since 2019, Haveron will support both Ryan & Jeff during a handover period which will last until the end of the current season.

First team manager Tiernan Lynch commented:

“We are delighted to be in a position whereby we have strengthened our academy set-up while also allowing Gary to focus solely on his role as a member of our senior coaching team.

“Gary has been balancing his role as Academy Director alongside being involved at first team level for the duration of this season and has shown himself to be an excellent coach who brings experience, knowledge and ideas to the table every single day.

“As a coaching team, we work extremely hard in our preparation and Gary being afforded the time to focus on first team matters will add an extra layer to our efforts. Safe in the knowledge that Ryan, Albert and Jeff will be looking after our academy phases on a full-time basis, our senior squad will benefit massively from having Gary’s focus once the handover period has been completed at academy level.”
