We are delighted to announce the appointment of Glenn Crooks as our new Community Engagement Officer.
After coming through the club’s Scholarship Programme and exploring opportunities in Spain from the course, Glenn has returned to the club to take over the role from Ryan McNickle who has decided to step aside to focus on other commitments. Glenn will also be taking up a coaching role at the club with our U13 YDP squad alongside Glenn Breen.
In what is an exciting and important role for the club, Glenn will be responsible for delivering the club’s community initiatives and programmes on a weekly basis while also being a liaison between the club and local schools, businesses and community groups, delivering the Community 365 blueprint as part of our ‘For The Town’ ethos.
The club currently run a number of programmes within the local community including an after schools programme, coffee club, holiday camps and player visits amongst other things, with plans in place to introduce more events and initiatives over the coming weeks and months.
Speaking on his new role, Glenn said:
“I’m delighted to be back at the club and excited to be taking on the role of Community Engagement Officer.
“Ryan has done well in the role in the past and introduced a number of different initiatives and programmes which are still running today.
“I look forward to continuing the good work that has been done so far while also bringing a fresh perspective and implementing my own thoughts and ideas into how the club can better serve the community of Larne.”
The club would like to thank Ryan McNickle for his efforts and contributions in the role and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
