We are delighted to announce Gary Haveron has been appointed as the club’s first ever full-time Academy Director.
Having enjoyed an Irish League playing career at Lisburn Distillery, Coleraine and Ballymena United, he moved into management with Carrick Rangers and Glentoran.
The Larne native then took up the role of Academy Director at Inver Park in June 2019.
In what is an exciting move for the club, Gary now moves to take on the job on a full-time basis at Inver Park.
The job description will see Gary splitting his time to work alongside the first team squad throughout the week, as well as overseeing the club’s ongoing development of young stars.
The move further underlines the club’s commitment to the vision as set out in our Aspire to Inspire document.
By appointing Gary on a full-time basis, he will be able to help create the clearest pathway yet from underage football at the club right through to Tiernan Lynch’s first team squad.
The full-time role also gives a greater opportunity to implement the club’s playing philosophy throughout every age level.
Chairman Gareth Clements is delighted with the appointment. He said: “‘It gives me great pleasure to welcome Gary to the club in a full time capacity.
“Gary will share his time between strategising and planning the future of our youth as full time Academy director, whilst joining Tiernan and the existing backroom staff in a coaching capacity with the first team.
“These are very exciting times both at grassroots and first team level; it is a great coup to have someone of Gary’s undoubted calibre join us on the journey.
“This appointment will help us to deliver upon the aspirations and goals we have set ourselves of bringing together the playing and coaching philosophies of the first team right through the academy.’
