The supporter led ‘For The Town’ Christmas Appeal has returned for 2023, with a call for all fans attending our Sports Direct Premiership clash with Glentoran next Friday 24th November to bring along donations of hygiene essentials for distribution to those in need in our community by local charity, Equality Period.
Christmas Appeal Volunteers will once again be positioned at a table just inside the main gates of Inver Park, close to the main entrance of the 1889 Sports & Social Club, and will very gratefully receive any of the following items:
- Shampoo
- Bars of soap
- Shower gel
- Deodorants
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Laundry detergent
- Washing up liquid
- Larger size nappies (5 through to 8)
There will also be collection buckets positioned around the stadium on the night for supporters who would like to make cash donations.
If you are unable to attend next Friday’s Glentoran game, or if you would like to make your donation at any other time, Larne FC sponsor Prestige Flooring & Bathrooms (26 Main Street) will kindly be offering a drop-off service for these items from today during normal business hours.
You are also welcome to drop donations off when you visit the new Christmas pop-up club shop at 1A Upper Main Street during normal shop opening hours.
The ‘For The Town’ Christmas Appeal will continue on match nights at Inver Park in the run up to Christmas. Please keep an eye on official club social media channels in the coming weeks to find out how you can help those in need in our community this year.
In 2022 the appeal, delivered by Larne FC’s three supporters clubs; The Inver Red & Whites SC, the Larne Reds SC and the Larne Northern Ireland SC delivered over 100 family food bags, over £1100 in vouchers for fresh fruit and veg, a large donation of food to Larne Food Bank and essential hygiene items to Equality Period plus £850 in cash donations, along with distribution of Christmas Care Packages to elderly supporters at Inver Park.
