First batch of training games confirmed

LARNE Football Club is delighted to announce that we have arranged a number of training matches in preparation for the upcoming 2020/21 season.

The Inver Reds’ first training match will take place on Saturday 29th August against H&W Welders at Inver Park, while further training matches have also been confirmed for September, including fixtures arranged against Warrenpoint Town and Annagh United.

We are working hard with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council to seek confirmation on whether we can have supporters at these matches and if so, what our capacity will be. As a club, we understand that this is a frustrating situation, but ask for your continued patience during these unprecedented times.

In the event that spectators are permitted to attend these games, tickets will be made available to purchase online. Alternatively, the media team at Inver Park are currently assessing the possibility of streaming games online via our social media channels.

Speaking on the announcement of the training matches, Tiernan Lynch said: “We are looking forward to playing football again.

“It has been a long time since we played our last competitive game, over a half a year now, and the lads are relishing the opportunity to get at it again. We will be using these games to try and regain our match sharpness and make sure we are ready for when the season begins, fingers crossed, in October.”

Full list of training matches are as follows:

Saturday 29th August: vs. H&W Welders @ Inver Park – 3pm

Saturday 5th September: vs. Warrenpoint Town @ Inver Park – 3pm

Saturday 19th September:  vs Annagh Utd @ Inver Park – 3pm

Supporters are advised that the management team at Inver Park are endeavouring to add to this schedule, with more training games expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
