ROHAN Ferguson was the hero for Larne as the Invermen progressed to the Irish Cup semi-final after a penalty shoot-out win away to Glentoran.

With the game locked at 1-1 After Extra Time, Larne booked their spot in the last four courtesy of a 3-1 shoot-out win.

Cammy Palmer had given Glentoran the lead on the stroke of half-time, finishing off a flowing move for the home side. However, the game went to extra-time when Larne produced a good move of their own, with Tomas Cosgrove and Conor McKendry linking up well for the latter to provide Andy Ryan with a tap-in.

MJ Kamara was sent off late on in the 90 minutes for Glentoran as the tie went to penalties.

Rohan Ferguson saved all three Glentoran efforts, leaving Cricky Gallagher to fire home the winner.

Larne will now take on Coleraine in the semi-final of the competition at the National Stadium on Saturday 4th April.
