We are very pleased to announce Rohan Ferguson has signed a new contract at the club, keeping him at Inver Park until the summer of 2026.
The Scottish goalkeeper becomes the latest in a series of players who have put pen to paper on contract extensions, including captain Tomas Cosgrove, as well as strikers Lee Bonis and Andy Ryan.
The 25-year-old is now in his third season at the club, having arrived from Queen of the South in June 2021. He made his debut in the club’s first foray into European football, keeping back-to-back clean sheets against Bala Town.
Rohan would go on to help the club retain the County Antrim Shield in two successive seasons before qualifying for the Europa Conference League again at the end o the 2021/22 season.
He wrote his name into the history books of the club, establishing himself as the number one goalkeeper as Larne lifted the Gibson Cup for the first time and helping to set a new defensive league record in the process, during last season.
In all, Rohan has kept a hugely impressive 46 clean sheets in his 88 games for the club to date.
The former Motherwell and Linfield man was delighted to extend his stay this side of the Irish Sea.
He said: “I’m delighted about signing a new contract.
“The club’s a place where I feel very much at home so it was a no brainer for me to sign for another few years.
“I’m very grateful to the the manager for putting his faith in me and hopefully I can repay him with performances on the pitch, which leads to success for the club.”
Boss Tiernan Lynch was equally as pleased to see another one of his mainstays commit their future to the club.
“Rohan is a goalkeeper who has grown into a very important player for us,” he said.
“There have been a number of goalkeepers during his time who have pushed him to be at his best, and alongside Aidan Dowling we have a very strong senior goalkeeping department this year.
“Rohan was a big part of the defensive success we enjoyed as a team last year and we are aiming to build on that again this season.”
